Originally when Marco and Kevin met to do a combined TSJA/Joel Del Rosario show, Kevin brought in saxophonist Otoe Mori who they thought might enhance the show.  From the first moment they rehearsed together an undeniable chemistry was present.  Otoe was very captivating and had a special presence, especially when performing live shows.  This gave Kevin and Marco the idea of producing an album for Otoe, and eventually the idea of Otoe joining TSJA.  This became a no-brainer since Marco and Kevin already wanted to feature Otoe on a few of their existing tracks.  From the beginning, this relationship would prove to be a special bond on and off stage.  It was no surprise when Otoe said yes after being asked if she would like to formally join TSJA. Marco and Kevin often refer to Otoe as “Sissy” and she refers to them as her brothers.

TSJA’s new single “Deep Into You” was written with the intention of introducing the world to its newest member "Sissy", saxophone artist Otoe Mori.  In doing so Kevin and Marco drew from their heavyweight jazz colleagues to feature none other than super contemporary jazz guitarist extraordinaire Mr. Blake Aaron. Together Otoe and Blake Aaron have an undeniable chemistry of soul and funk!  “Deep Into You” is the first single of TSJA’s upcoming EP titled “Here’s The Thing”, currently in route for a 2022 release.  “Here’s The Thing” will be the first of two EP’s coming soon, both featuring a lineup of special guest artists.

San Francisco Bay Area’s “The Smooth Jazz Alley” is made up of keyboardist/producer Marco Montoya, drummer/producer Kevin Lewis, and Saxophonist Otoe Mori.  Their music can best be defined as a blend of Jazz, R&B, Soul, & Funk.

TSJA was originally formed by Marco Montoya and guitarist Stan Evans.  Together they wrote & produced the first album “Been A Long Time Comin’”, released in 2016.  In 2017 Stan left the project and one year later Kevin Lewis joined.  Marco & Kevin met through jazz guitarist Joel Del Rosario collectively performing a handful of shows.  After one of their rehearsals, Marco discussed his newer tracks that were in production when Kevin introduced the idea of having well-known guest artists appear on some of the tracks.  After many conversations and studio sessions later, the rest was history. Together they have developed a brotherhood along with a professional relationship that is like no other.  Needless to say, TSJA’s second album “Let’s Ride” showcased a lineup of guest artists such as Chieli Minucci, Andy Snitzer, Roberto Vally, Eric Marienthal, Joel Del Rosario, Greg Vail, Lebron Dennis, Carlyle Barriteau, Matt Godina & more.
